Satanic Oppression Defeated only through Prayer

Posted on May 16th, 2016

Pastor Salomon, camp director, covets your prayers!
“My counselors and I need your prayers as we prepare again to do battle against the enemy of our soul. Our strongest desire is to see spiritual victories in the hearts of our campers. Please pray against the spirits of immorality, rebellion, anger, bitterness, and lying.”

Last year’s battles were intense! Outward manifestations came almost daily in the services as the campers were singing, reading scripture, and praising God. This happens because unsaved campers come to camp already infiltrated from the spirit world. When these evil spirits begin to sense that a young person is under conviction, they manifest a brutality by throwing the person to the floor and uttering loud cries. One camper from a witch-doctor’s family had satanic claims from relatives on his life that he would follow his father’s profession. The evil spirits spoke out as he was on the floor and said that the young man belonged to them. After much quoting of scripture and prayer, the evil spirits were forced to leave. Another camper, who had left the environment of her Christian home, got involved in the world and became a target for evil spirits. As the counselors were praying and quoting scripture over her, the spirits spoke out and told how they had waited for a long time to inhabit her but her father’s prayers over her every day in the home had prevented their occupancy. Once she was out of the home and became involved in worldliness they found entrance, and now stated that they had no intention of leaving. WELL, we want to report to you that the spirits were forced out by the Word and by prayer and she was set free—praise God!

The method of purging and liberating these young people from Satan’s power differs depending on their level of spirit involvement. Pastor Salomon has trained his counselors well to know what to do and how to do it when dealing with these cases (normally occurring in the middle of a service) without disrupting the entire service. The afflicted camper is very carefully carried quickly from the service to another location and dealt with through prayer and scripture. Please pray that God will give us more spiritual victories this summer.

Unfortunately, Hosanna Radio does not cover the entire southeast department of which Pastor Dieupie is senator. Because it is the most widely listened-to station now, there is a demand from the people for wider coverage and more Gospel programming. (Listeners request more of “the senator’s” sermons.) We are finding that for every dollar invested in evangelism and discipleship, radio runs a close second to Christian education in sustainable results because of its 24/7 influence. However, we are facing a difficult situation because of the financial implications of moving the station. In order to have room for solar panels, more back-up batteries, more airflow space for amplifiers, and transmitters, we will need to actually undertake another construction project on top of the dormitory building. George Rogier, (radio engineer who designed our original start-up), Gary Drost, (electrical engineer), Tom and I are planning a trip the end of this month to see if we can come up with a plan to accomplish all that needs to be done.

For real? A $15,000 matching pledge??

Faithful supporters, as I (Sarah) was sitting at my computer and writing this letter, my phone rang and I heard a friend say she and her husband wanted to make a $15,000 matching pledge for the radio! Momentarily, I felt stunned and my heart skipped a beat. Nothing like this has ever before happened to MFH. So we put this before you, our co-laborers, and commit the results of this pledge into the hands of our Omniscient and Omnipotent God Who has directed in every step of the work MFH has done since my parents’ days up to the present.

“Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory…”
(Psalm 115:1a)

Our thanks to God and to each of you,

Tom and Sarah Bennett
