The Senator

Posted on April 1st, 2016

“We want to listen to the Senator’s radio – We want to visit the Senator’s church.”

Remarkable attention is growing concerning “the Senator.” Calls are coming in to the radio station requesting to hear more of “the senator’s” sermons. A busload of visitors drove from a city 100 miles away just to see and hear a Sunday morning message from “the Senator.” “The Senator’s” call for justice on the day of his installation (the story we shared in last month’s letter) has traveled far and captured much attention. Political injustice is so much the order of the day in Haiti that when justice steps into the room, there is amazement and shock! Hosanna’s Sunday services are packed and souls are coming to Christ from hearing the Word. We praise God for this!!

Mme Gézina Saint-Juste (Grandma Chérubin) – Home with the Lord. Pastor Dieupie’s mother departed this life on March 12 at age 86 for her Heavenly Home. Dedicated servant of God and mother of 10, this amazing woman who never learned to neither read nor write but understood numbers and was able to physically and economically raise and educate all her children with the keen financial mind God had given her. She was a tobacco sales person before coming to Christ some 40 years ago. However after accepting Christ, she became convicted concerning the selling of tobacco and switched to selling used shoes and sandals, traveling daily from Jacmel to different prime markets of surrounding villages. She never missed a church service or the weekly 4:30 morning prayer service with Shepherd of Love ladies group in the church. Her husband who had two other wives gave her very little support. After coming to Christ, she separated herself from him and God became her husband. One of her final requests of the Lord was that she would be allowed to see Pastor Dieupie become senator. God granted this godly woman her request!

March blessings and successes for MFH! For the reroofing of the men’s cabins, the stuccoing and roofing the four new classrooms in Lavanneau, and the blessings from both the women’s and men’s retreats, we give God our thanks and praise! Energetic teams from Canaan Bible Chapel, Lake Ariel, PA, and Mayfair Bible Church, Flushing, MI, blessed us with their presence and completed these projects. Also, both of the retreats were exceptional. We accommodated 135 women in facilities that normally handle only 100. Sleeping on thin mattresses on the floor of the all-purpose building was no problem to these ladies, just so they could be there and participate in every part of the retreat! The men’s retreat was likewise blessed. The Q & A sessions were as lively as the lessons. We rejoice to see that finally the men have the same excitement as the women have for these annual retreats.

Radio growth calls for a move! Little did we realize five years ago when we started Hosanna Radio that it would become one of the most powerful tools for outreach and evangelism in the Southeast. Many come to Christ through the Bible study programs, recorded preaching services, and the daily prayer time sessions. However, the city electricity problems, combined with our growth, create the need for a move. Our limited quarters don’t allow space for additional back-up batteries to cool and expel the toxic fumes that are a by-product of overheating, or the additional space to install solar panels. Amplifiers and transmitters are also in need of more airflow space. PLEASE PRAY with us as we start a financial and physical plan to move Hosanna Radio.

Our deepest thanks to God for each of you who are making this ministry happen! The souls who are coming to Christ and the spiritual growth taking place are eternal blessings that each of you will reap in Glory!
